I just watched this clip from a recent Brady Bunch reunion with all six kids which aired days ago an Entertainment Tonight. The Brady House in Studio City is going to be turned into some sort of museum. I'm wondering if Maureen McCormick had something done to her face, especially her mouth. I've notice in recent years her mouth looking really turned down like she's smelling shit (very noticeable starting at the 2:05 mark.) She looks weird. Eve seems to look the best out of the three girls and Chris looks best out of the boys. Susan still dons the same old blonde wig and looks very haggard.

Eve is actually a pretty talented artist. She might have enough money to buy the house on her own. Susan Olsen had a very unfortunate episode, where she got into a nasty exchange with some disc jockey, and used some very homophobic language. Yet, otherwise, she's been very supportive of gays. Social media seems to bring out people's worst instincts.
I recently read about Maureen McCormick's previous drug addiction. Apparently, she traded sex for drugs. I'm used to reading about Hollywood performers who've had scary lives like that, but reading about her in that condition is one of those very rare times that it brought tears to my eyes.
BTW, In those interviews, it seems like Kevin Frazier is doing all the work. He used to be our local sportscaster, and he's one of the phinest men I've ever seen (really nice, too).

[quote] Why was Carol’s first husband hated so? Never mentioned and his name erased when the girls all took the Brady name. Abusive alcoholic or was Carol in the witness protection program?
The back story for the show when it was original conceived was that Mike was widowed and Carol was divorced; but the network was anxious about this and thought this would be too modern for audiences to handle (they also didn't have any plan for whether mr. Martin, the girls' father,m would ever appear on the series). So they dealt with it by not ever mentioning what had happened to Mr. martin, whether he had died or divorced Carol. And then they just decided to pretend he never existed.
One of the weirdest things about the show is that while the fact that the boys and the girls are not biologically related is the major theme of the first season, it becomes nearly forgotten by the second and then thereafter: it's just a show about a family with six kids, which was the real behind it anyway. (Apparently many children fantasize about being in a large family so they would always have someone to play with, which is why over the years there have been so many shows about just that: Eight is Enough, Seventh Heaven, Step by Step, etc.)

She became even worse since that happened. A total right-wing conspiracy theory nut job, and she NEVER was a friend to gay people. She would constantly refer to them as irresponsible and not "real" men in her posts that continued after she had that episode. Most of her fans and friends (including Robbie Rist) had dropped off of her facebook page and all that was left was a bunch of evangelical rednecks and Trump morons cheering on her idiocy. [quote] Well that seems like a genius plan for making no money at all, because to the best of my knowledge, nobody remembers grumpy Robert Reed for his Hamlet.
Not long before he died, however, Robert Reed took the advice of his then-lawyer Dan Kossow (a well-known entertainment attorney who also represented Adam "Batman" West) and refused to sign a deal with Viacom/Paramount that would let the corporation use his '70s-era visage on Brady products. The rest of the cast had agreed, so Viacom decided it could carry on without Mr. Brady.
Robert Reed had no direct involvement in the raising of his own daughter. She actually severed ties and allowed her step-father to legally adopt her, terminating Robert Reed parental rights.
Despite that Robert Reed made his daughter his sole heir to his estate - for now she has no interest in allowing the image Robert Reed to be used in any and all Brady Bunch merchandise.

Eve's paintings are technically fine, but there's not any emotion in them or soul (even for still lifes).
But Eve was the best actor among the children. it is true that Sherwood Schwartz thought originally when he created the show that Susan Olsen was the big find (she was the first one he cast), but as the show went on the writers thought Eve Plumb was the best actor among the children and began to write shows especially for her--they thought especially she was superb at crying and feeling conflicted, which is why there are all those episodes where Jan becomes the poster child for teen angst that were later so parodied, such as "Will the Real Jan Brady Please Stand Up?" (Jan gets the wig), "The Not So Rose Colored Glasses" (Jan has to wear prescription eyeglasses, which she thinks make her look "positive goofy!"), "The Not So Ugly Duckling" (Jan invents a fictional boyfriend named George Glass to seem like less of a loser), "Her Sister's Shadow" (Jan becomes jealous of Marcia's successes--the "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!" episode).

OMG, I was going to totally ignore this thread because fifty years of the Brady Bunch is fifty years too much. But then I came across this gem: "she (Olsen) got into a nasty exchange with some disc jockey, and used some very homophobic language. Yet, otherwise, she's been very supportive of gays."
How the fuck has she been "very supportive of the gays" when the ONLY thing you know about her is her homophobia. Like, "Whoopsie! The minute I get pissed I reach for my gallon bottle of homophobia, but otherwise, it just sits on the shelf, gathering dust. So crown me QUEEN OF THE GAYS ALREADY YOU FUCKING F*GS!"
Yes, I used an asterisk. Because even when talking about a homophobe, I don't want to use homophobic language.
I'm totally gay that way.

"She" didn't allow anything. If her step-father legally adopted her it was because Robert Reed allowed it. He would have had to willingly sign away his parental rights. You can't just adopt someone else's child away from them without their consent unless a court makes the decision for them. Most men who do that willingly do it to get out of paying child support.

Reed died in '92. Robert Reed, unwittingly, showed me the true nature of religion. And this is why I steer clear of it to this day. ...

Reed only did TBB for the money. He would get into arguments with creator Sherwood Schwartz over practically nothing just to be a pain in the ass. Reed hated Schwartz but loved the kids and Florence. Florence’s kids are gorgeous. Flo didn’t support chris knight and Adrienne getting married and that was a huge sticking point for chris as he considered Florence a second mother and valued her opinion. Chris barry and Susan showed up for his wedding but Florence did not. Maureen was close to Florence.
R180 is correct. Had reed died without a will and not legally name her his heir, his daughter would have no legal right to his estate as she would not be considered related to him by law because of the adoption/perential termination. Actress Anne Haney was reeds closest friend and I think he may have left some of his estate to her.

Joyce Bulifant was, as she put it, “signed, sealed and delivered” to star as Mrs. Brady in a new TV show titled “The Brady Bunch.”
And just when she was getting ready for her close-up, ABC executives had another idea in mind.
“I had been out for two weeks with the wardrobe people to get the right clothes for the show,” “Friday night, I was trying on the costumes for the director, producer and [writer] Sherwood Schwartz. I was so excited, but they had a funny expression on their faces.”
The confused actress with the famous squeaky voice was informed that Florence Henderson had suddenly become available and the network wanted her for the role of the beloved matriarch.
“I just looked at them,” Bulifant recalled. “I had signed a seven-year contract! The little girls were cast to look like me. Sherwood was devastated because the show had a whole new meaning than what he was looking for.
"He said, ‘Any show I do from now on, you’re going to be in it!’ He put me in his next series, but it was a short-lived Saturday morning show.”
Still, Bulifant doesn’t have any hard feelings about the missed opportunity of a lifetime.
“It all turned out just fine!” she said. “I was very fond of Florence and she was a lovely lady. And the show was very successful… Everything turned out the way it’s supposed to.”
by Anonymous | reply 213 | November 7, 2018 1:16 AM |

Eve blossomed into this Amazonian teen in the show’s last season, almost not resembling her tiny character in the previous years. Imagine what it's like to have someone marry you for the exact same reason, R258

The Partridge Family lived near a Taco Stand.

Nicolas Cage also married Lisa Marie because of his lifelong fascination with Elvis.

So did MJ, come to think of it.

I think I remember Mike Lookinland (Bobby) saying that Maureen McCormick (Marcia) was, in real life, sort of like the Marcia character (slightly irritating). I remember her on Celebrity Fit Club, a reality show involving two teams competing to lose, collectively, the most weight. It was hilarious in that they would all step onto a giant scale together. My point is that even MM has to earn a living.

Nowadays? We all knew it back when his hair went from straight to curly and his close went from normal to FABULOUS

Sort of like I did!

I never liked super-permed Robert. I always thought he looked better with the straight hair.
And a lot of people didn't know he was gay. We didn't have the internet back then and no magazines or talk shows talked about him being gay.

Reed had the most beautiful eyes! Stunning.

He also had a banging bod for the 60s/70s.

He could also sit on a stiff cock like nobody’s business.

And twice on Sunday for a black cock.

Did Reed ever have a black cock? Would have been even more controversial

Several people have said that they saw him in LA gay bars picking up black men. I don't know if that's true or just jealous talk, but I've heard it from more than one source.

He took ‘em like a champ on the set of Roots.

R274 I’ve heard he was very open minded in a sexual way and liked trying new things and very liberal.
Wouldn’t be shocked be liked black men, not that you need to be liberal to. I know Republican whites with black people.
Granted Republican doesn’t mean Conservative.

There's nothing creepier than interracial Conservative relationships. Every time I see an angry White Trumper on Facebook and he has a Black, Latin or Asian wife...RUN GIRL RUN!

The same people that though Paul Lynn, Jim Nabors and Rock Hudson were not gay and thought Raymond Navarro and Sal Mineo were killed by robbers.

What about cutiepie Danny Lockin (aka 'Barnaby' in HELLO, DOLLY!) ? Did the public know that a trick he'd picked up in a bar had tortured and stabbed him to death? Or was all that left out?
