Steven Tyler parents: Meet Victor A. Tallarico, Susan Blancha

He is the son of Cardinal Spellman High School in The Bronx music teacher Victor A. Tallarico and secretary Susan Ray, a pianist and classical musician.

As the lead singer of the hard rock group Aerosmith, which produced the albums Toys in the Attic and Rocks as well as the smash singles “Dream On,” “Sweet Emotion,” and “Walk This Way,” Tyler gained notoriety in the 1970s. Tyler had a significant drug and alcohol problem by the late 1970s and early 1980s, and the band’s popularity had waned.

Tyler finished his drug rehab in 1986, and after Joe Perry and Tyler joined Run-DMC for a cover of “Walk This Way,” which went on to become a Top 5 hit, Aerosmith gained notoriety once more.
