Nicole Ari Parker (Nicole Ari Parker-Kodjoe) is an American actress and model. Parker made her screen debut with a leading role in the critically acclaimed independent film The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love in 1995 and later went to appear in Boogie Nights in 1997 directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
Parker has starred in a number of movies, include Blue Streak in 1999, Remember the Titans in 2000, Brown Sugar in 2002, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins in 2008, Black Dynamite in 2009 and Almost Christmas in 2016. On television, Parker played the leading role of attorney Teri Joseph in the Showtime drama series Soul Food from 2000 to 2004), for which she received five NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series nominations. Additionally, Parker starred in the short-lived UPN romantic comedy Second Time Around (2004-05) and ABC drama Time After Time in 2017. she joined the cast of Fox prime time soap opera Empire in 2017 playing Giselle Barker.

Early in her career Parker appeared in several critically acclaimed independent films including The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love, 200 Cigarettes, Boogie Nights, and the 1999 Sundance Film Festival winner The Adventures of Sebastian Cole. She starred with Boris Kodjoe, her husband, model and actor, in UPN’s situation comedy Second Time Around.
After a string of odd jobs, bit roles and low wage work in the theater circuit, Parker was offered her breakthrough role on Soul Food. In Soul Food, Parker showcased her singing voice in several episodes. She also had a guest appearance on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, playing a singer. In the movie Divas alongside Khalil Kain, Parker played the role of Stephanie in the movie Divas alongside Khalil Kain. Parker also had a lead role in the 1998 film Exiled: A Law & Order Movie. She worked alongside Martin Lawrence in two of his films: Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins and Blue Streak. She also opened on Broadway in the play A Streetcar Named Desire, in the role of Blanche DuBois.
In the 2013, Parker was lead actress on NBC drama pilot, Secret Lives of Husbands and Wives and later had a recurring role on Revolution. Parker starred as a series regular in 2014, in the first season of the TNT crime drama Murder in the First, opposite Taye Diggs and Kathleen Robertson. Parker joined the cast of Fox prime time soap opera Empire in 2017, playing Giselle Barker, in a recurring basic during fourth season. Parker has been promoted to a series regular for the fifth season.
