Parker Moquin Obituary, Death – Parker Alan Moquin, a bright and beloved soul, left this world on January 6, 2024, at the age of 20, in Fishersville. Born at Augusta Health on October 5, 2003, Parker was the cherished son of Cheryl and Jeramie Fortune, and Adam and Ashley Moquin.
A 2022 graduate of Wilson Memorial High School, Parker had recently embarked on a promising career at Virginia Panel, a new opportunity that filled him with excitement and eagerness. His enthusiasm for life extended to his role at Amazon in Waynesboro, where he served as a learning ambassador, fostering special relationships with those around him. Passionate about the art of culinary delights, Parker had a profound love for food. He found joy in good company and appreciated the beauty of nature, seeking solace in the mountains and oceans. Parker was an active member of the Fishersville Baseball league for numerous years, showcasing his love for the sport and his continued support for his siblings.
Remembered for his gentle soul and beautiful smile, Parker will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His willingness to lend a helping hand, his love for family, and his unwavering support will be cherished in the hearts of those left behind. Parker leaves behind his siblings, Alissa and Landon Moquin, and Camden and Gabriel Fortune, all of Fishersville. He is survived by great-grandmothers Barbara McDowell of Dayton, Ohio, and Barbara Seay of Staunton, and grandparents Chong McDowell of Fishersville, Timothy McDowell of Winchester, Tommy and Belinda Fortune of Stuarts Draft, and Christine Moquin of Waynesboro. Parker was preceded in death by his grandfather, Alan Moquin.
In addition to his parents, siblings, and grandparents, Parker is remembered fondly by special aunts and uncles, including Sabina and her husband, Bryan Curry of Stuarts Draft, Shannon McDowell of Fishersville, Ken and Donita McCormick-Fortune of Waynesboro, John and Christy Smith of Fort Defiance, and Jeff Moquin of Charleston, South Carolina. His family pets, Malu and Boo’s, also held a special place in his heart.
A celebration of Parker’s life will take place at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, on Sunday, January 14, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to attend and share memories of his beautiful life. In memory of Parker, contributions can be made to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, an organization close to his heart.
